This policy explains what information staceyosvett.com ("the site") collects from visitors, how it’s used, and how you can get in touch if you have questions.
Who runs this site
The site is operated by Stacey Osvett ("Stacey," "I"). For privacy-related questions, you can reach me at hello@staceyosvett.com.
What I collect
I try to collect as little personal information as possible. Specifically:
- Newsletter signups. When you join The Long Watch, your email address (and optionally your first name) is stored in my self-hosted newsletter system, Sendy, and processed for delivery through Amazon SES.
- Contact form submissions. If you use the contact form, your name, email, and message are sent to me by email. I keep them only as long as I need to in order to reply.
- Basic analytics. The site may collect anonymous information about visits (pages viewed, approximate location, device type) to help me understand what readers find useful. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
What I don’t collect
I don’t sell your information. I don’t share your email with other authors, publishers, or third parties — except the service providers (like Sendy and Amazon SES) that I need to actually run the newsletter and the site.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies for basic functionality (such as remembering whether you’ve dismissed a banner). If analytics is enabled, those tools may set their own cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time without losing access to the site.
Email and unsubscribing
If you’re on the newsletter, every email I send includes an unsubscribe link. Click it once and you’re out — no follow-ups, no “are you sure?”
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what information I hold about you
- Request a correction or deletion of that information
- Withdraw consent for email marketing at any time

Children
The site isn’t designed for, or directed at, children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under that age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes in a meaningful way, I’ll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, mention it in the next newsletter so you’re not left guessing.
